Okay, don't tell my kids, but yes, I do tinker with the idea of getting a tatoo after they leave home. Their dad (my husband) won't mind. If I get one now, the kids will read this as a nod of approval for them to their forehead in time for senior pix.

This probably applies to motorcycles too. After they leave, my husband will be ready to ride again. With a helmet. The kids probably don't realize he had a bike back in his single days.

A twentysomething guy friend of ours lost his brother on a bike recently. Don't know if the biker was a tatoo guy, but prayer for S.H. would be appreciated.

not me

I may wear 1 or 2 stickem tattoos at a church Harvest Party.
I like the temporary ones.
Remember I'm the fickle woman that changed her avatar about 7 times in 3 years.

I've seen ads for the permanent eyeliner/tattoo.
Anyone here get that done ?????
The same makeup forever, same color eyeliner forever?

Hehe, I asked my husband the other day (after bringing up tattoos because I saw one on a passerby that was interesting), "would you like me to get a tattoo?" He said, "yes." Hahahaha. He likes me just fine without one, but it struck me funny and took me a little by surprise that he was so ready to answer yes. Not sure why!

I'm not a huge tattoo fan. Not opposed to them or anything, just a personal aesthetic preference. Although now I'm having second thoughts - I might get one in a place that I can't see but my husband can (like on the edge of the lower back). That way we'd both be happy!

Heh. Probably won't actually get one, just toying around with the thought. Although I did just get my ears pierced - who knows, from there it's all out!!! (j/k )

Yup, on the foot. Then I thought maybe a permentant toe ring on the other foot...but not right away. That on is just for fun. I always wanted one that would really 'be me' something I'd never be ashamed of having, yet I don't want it in a very public place no matter what it is. Would he come with me? Doubt it highly. And truthfully, our marital situation might keep it from happening, can't rock the boat you know! The only saving grace here would be that his sister says she wants the same thing, so we would go together, and he would never guess she would get a tattoo, so it might make me look more sane.
I'll let you know if I do it.

Hi There Farouk,

I have a small Treble Clef tattoo on my right ankle.

I have seen a few of your threads asking about piercings and tattoos. Do you have any?

ok, I'll fess up,
I want one in the worst way! Always did, but could never could figure out what and where...well, I saw exactly the thing. A fish, like Mea's whatchmacall it...(avatar?) like her picture. It's going on my foot, And I am soooo excited, the problem is DH he HATES tattoos! I think I might try to suggest it for my birthday next year.
But... I'm torn with that whole pesky submission thing.
I'll have to wait and see.

Hi. So have you been to look at a parlor yet? Maybe he can come with you as well, just to see?

So:

It's foot you want, not ankle? (ankle is very popular with women).

Take care.

the pain was well worth it for me. Im not gonna recommend it or not

recommend it because its between you and God. A tattoo is a major thing

especially if its big remember its never coming off. I would never get

a tattoo that doesn't mean anything to you. About my mom i wasnt

really shocked I thought it was cool at the time I was young and

tattoos weren't very common around my town. My sister also has two

tattoos. Its funny my dad is the only one in my family without one now

that i got mine.

Okay yes of course it's a personal thing; and you obviously don't regret yours anyhow.

So your sister as well; so are hers ankle tattoos like your mom's?

It hurt a pretty good bit mainly because ive had two 4 hour sessions and

two 3 1/2 hour sessions. It was tolerable enough it kinda feels like

someone scraping you skin for a long time. It hurt the most on the under

part of my arm near my armpit and bicep and top if my shoulder. No I didn't

watch my mom get hers she just showed up at home one day with one. My dad

was a little shocked but he got over it. Can't wait to show my parents.

Well sounds like you thought the pain was worth it.

Would you recommend it being done?

So about your mom, were you shocked at her tattoo that she showed up with, or did you think it was great?

Im working on a half sleeve (from top of shoulder to elbow) its based off

of a painting by keith goodson called I Am it has a lion at the top with 3

crosses on a rock waterfall on the side and a burning bush on the otherside

and a lamb at the bottom. I contemplated and prayed for months whether not

to get that tattoo but i went ahead and got it. My parents are supportive

especially since my mom has one on her ankle.

Did it hurt you to get your tattoo? Was it tolerable?

So did you watch your mom get her tattoo?

Its nothing special to be the first.

Its on my right shoulder.

Amanda

Okay

Yes well shoulder, like lower back (and also ankle) is a popular and proper 'woman' tattoo location isn't it?

(For guys it's arms and chest especially isn;t it, though women are doing them as well now)

So, did it feel really special to become the first tattooed woman in

(Where was the placement, by the way?)

So: was all the stinging feeling worth it, to become a tattooed lady?

What did your mom think, Amanda, of your tattoo?

Have your sisters now gotten any ideas about getting inked as well?

Take care.

Yeah it was worth it. My mom actually drove me there. It was my dad and grandparents who had the problem. There ok with it now.

I dont know about my sisters. Maybe some day!

Amanda

Well, tattooing sometimes goes in families (like being against tattooes can go in families as well)!

So your mom drove you for you to get inked.

Has she been tattooed?

Take care, Amanda

So, Amanda, did it hurt?

When I got it done it felt like a bunch of bees stinging me real fast. The worst part was the shading cause my buttefly is the size of a quater and it felt like the whole time he was coloring that he was digging in the same place. Even tho he wasn't. After it was done it felt like a bad sun burn someone kept poking. It hurt for about a week!

Ankle is a popular female tattoo placement, as are lower back or shoulder. For guys, chest and arm are particularly widespread.

So you've decided on the placement

OF COURSE, IT'S WHAT THE LORD JESUS MAKES US INWARDLY THAT MATTERS MOST.

I like that you said that. When I mention tattoos and piercings to other people, the reaction is automatically one of disgust or disdain. WHy? Why do people feel this will kill my witness? Does the fact that I look different make me a non-Christian?

By the way, do you have any ink?

Whether being a Christian depends on if someone has repented and believed the Gospel and is depending on the Lord Jesus entirely for salvation.

Now as for the other thing, lots of women (and men) get tattoos. For all sorts of reasons and in various circumstances.

But let me tell you about a situation that can happen with a woman, since you're now old enough to understand.

Sometimes a woman can have a boyfriend who doesn't help her in her Christian life. Sadly.

Now that woman may have a tattoo of her (former) boyfriend's name, say, Bill, on her back or shoulder (popular placements for women).

If she is converted, she may want to change the tattoo because she would rather not be reminded of her former bf but rather of her faith.

Like in having 'Bill' changed to 'Bible', it's much easier to do that than get it off altogether.

Praise God, it sounds as if you have avoided some of the bad things that happen in the world, by His grace.

But it's difficult to be legalistic.

If you do get your tattoo, it's good to remember that you won't convince everyone and you'll need to respect them as well, just as you'll wish to be respected as a tattooed woman.

Take care, Sarah Beth.

Well, I really think that two years isn't all that long to wait for something as permanent as a tattoo, but ya know, I still kinda want one now.

YES, WELL IT'S AN ADULT WOMAN WHO WANTS WHAT SHE CAN GET AND CAN GET WHAT SHE WANTS.

YOU REALLY WANT ONE NOW, DON'T YOU?

I only have like three in my ear, because I can't have them at school. I go to a conservative high school in a very small town. I really can't get anymore because I would have to take them out at school, and I try to stay out of the big people's hair at the school...

No, mom and dad have no ink. By the I'm 16 now comment I meant that I have two years to wait until I can get one on my own. I don't want to wait that long. But tattoos aren't really as cool as piercings though....I might hold off on the ink, cause I spend most of my time broke.

Still the fact that they will take you to get tattooed, if you want to, must mean they no longer see you as a little girl but as almost an adult woman.

But you want to get pierced even more badly do you?

So have you gotted pierced already then?

Take care.

Good question.. I mean its not like it isn't going on. If it was legalized, not only could it be regulated, but it could also generate income for the state. Try telling this to Oklahoma voters, they won't pass the bill to make it legal.
